Johor Darul Ta’zim cemented their relentless grip on the top of the table on Wednesday night, unleashing a ferocious attacking display to humiliate PDRM FC 7-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
JDT signaled their intent early, with the imaginative Manuel Hidalgo buzzing around the final third and agonizingly firing just wide in the opening minutes. PDRM did briefly threaten through Fakhrul Azim, whose powerful effort forced a sharp, smart save from JDT custodian Syihan Hazmi, who was largely untroubled but ever-alert.
The breakthrough came in the 15th minute. Yago Cesar ignited the celebrations, clinically unlocking the PDRM defense to net the opener. The floodgates were officially open.
Stuart Wilkin delivered the knockout blow of the half in the 25th minute, unleashing a stunning rocket from well outside the penalty area that left PDRM goalkeeper Asri Muhamad completely helpless. It was a perfect exclamation point on a dominant first 45 minutes, with JDT cruising to a 3-0 halftime lead.
Any hopes of a PDRM fightback were swiftly extinguished just six minutes into the second half. Stuart Wilkin, running rampant in midfield, capitalized on static defending to notch his second of the night in the 51st minute, pushing the lead to a comfortable 4-0.
PDRM tried to muster a response, with import Elisha Segun forcing Syihan Hazmi into another impressive block, but JDT’s defensive integrity remained rock-solid under the guidance of captain Matthew Davies.
The final 10 minutes saw JDT turn dominance into demolition. Jairo da Silva took over the show, exhibiting lethal finishing with a quick-fire double within three minutes (80′, 83′) to make it 6-0.
Bergson da Silva, JDT’s all-time leading scorer, then applied the final touch of class in the 88th minute, rifling home the seventh goal to cap off a historic night for the home side.
The final whistle sounded with the scoreboard reading 7-0, a masterclass in attacking football from the Southern Tigers.
