Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team revealed has not raised the white flag or given up defeat, on the other hand, he is optimistic that Malaysia still has a chance and emphasised that his troops will fight until the end.
Malaysia is on a very difficult mission to advance to the third round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian qualifiers after being tied with Kyrgyz Republic national team 1-1 last night.
.However, Malaysia lags behind by a large amount in terms of goal difference when they concede two goals (-2), while Kyrgyz Republic has a six-goal advantage (+6).
“We are aware that you (Kyrgyzstan) have a big advantage, maybe eight (goals). But we can probably score more than eight goals in the next match, at home, we also have an advantage.” Pan-Gon, said.
“Your team conceded four goals (against Malaysia at the National Stadium). So I believe we can do something, we will fight until the end.”
“We want to continue the fight until the next match at home. We want to do something, if we score more than seven goals and you lose 0-2 (to Oman), we will qualify,”
