Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has firmly stated that the conclusions presented in FIFA’s recent decision are inaccurate and misleading, emphasizing that the allegations claiming national players “obtained or were aware of falsified documents” are entirely unfounded and unsupported by evidence.
In its official statement, FAM explained that the issue stemmed from an administrative error involving a wrong submission — where a staff member mistakenly uploaded a document provided by an agent instead of the official document issued by the National Registration Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, JPN).
FAM confirmed that a formal appeal is currently being prepared, supported by the authentic and government-certified documents that prove the legitimacy of the players’ eligibility.
“FAM remains fully committed to defending the integrity of Malaysian football based on verified facts and official documentation,” the association stated.
The organization reiterated its determination to ensure that justice is upheld and that Malaysia’s football reputation remains untarnished at the international level.
FAM emphasized that it will submit the official appeal to FIFA through the proper legal channels as soon as all relevant verified materials are finalized.
