The Sessions Court has ordered Darulaman Football Club Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC), to pay RM353,426.50 to their former Haitian import player, Sony Norde, for unpaid salaries and registration fees.
The ruling, delivered today, came after the court found that the club failed to settle seven months of wages owed to Norde during his stint in the 2024 Malaysia Super League. In addition, the club had not fulfilled its obligation to pay his registration fee when he joined the Canaries.
Norde’s lawyer, Elfie Nieshaen, confirmed that his client is entitled not only to the overdue salary but also to additional compensation. The court granted Norde’s claim for 10% interest on the outstanding amount, alongside a further 5% bonus promised by the club under the original agreement.
Elfie stated that the legal team will proceed with enforcement measures if payment is not made within the 14-day deadline set by the court.
“This case was filed following a decision already made by FIFA. However, KDA FC failed to provide the required documentation in response. An official complaint was lodged with FIFA in January, and the matter was eventually escalated to the Malaysian courts,” he explained during a press conference.
