Malaysia have guaranteed themselves the men’s doubles title at the Victor Korea Masters 2026, with Tee Kai Wun/Yap Roy King and Man Wei Chong/Soh Wooi Yik advancing to an all-Malaysian final at the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament.
The breakthrough guarantees Malaysia a champion in the men’s doubles event, regardless of the outcome of the final.
Tee Kai Wun and Yap Roy King secured their place in the final without having to take to the court after Japanese pair Shuji Sawada/Daigo Tanioka conceded their semi-final.
The walkover sends the Malaysian combination into their first Korea Masters final, giving Tee and Yap an opportunity to fight for their first major title together on the BWF World Tour.
It also represents another important step forward for the pair, who have been building momentum throughout the tournament.
On the other side of the draw, Man Wei Chong and Soh Wooi Yik booked their place in the final after overcoming Japan’s Haruki Kawabe/Kenta Matsukawa in a dramatic three-game battle.
The Malaysians lost the opening game 18-21, but responded strongly to take the second 22-20 before completing the comeback with a 21-18 victory in the deciding game.
The 18-21, 22-20, 21-18 triumph showcased the Malaysians’ composure under pressure, particularly after they had been pushed all the way in the second game.
The result means the Korea Masters 2026 men’s doubles title is now certain to belong to Malaysia.
