Indonesian men’s singles badminton star, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, has officially withdrawn from the 2025 BWF World Tour Super 1000 All England tournament as he continues recovering from an arm injury.
The decision, made in consultation with the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), aims to ensure Ginting returns to full fitness before competing in major tournaments.
“Ginting has recovered from his arm injury, but his condition needs to be better prepared to take part in major tournaments,” said Eng Hian, Head of Development and Achievement Division at PBSI, in a statement on Tuesday.
Eng Hian emphasized that this precautionary measure is to prevent recurring injuries and allow Ginting to regain peak condition. His anticipated comeback is expected at the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships, scheduled for April 8-13.
Despite Ginting’s absence, PBSI will send 14 Indonesian players to compete at the All England 2025, held from March 11-16 at Utilita Arena, Birmingham.
Last year, Jonatan Christie claimed the men’s singles title, while Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto triumphed in men’s doubles. Ginting finished as runner-up, losing to Christie in the final (15-21, 14-21).
