Selangor FC show a good performance in starting match after beating DPMM FC, a club from Singapore Premier League scoring 4-0 in the Selangor KUSEL Asia Challenge 2024 Matchday 1 at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
In the final action, SFC took advantage of the opportunity with a free kick in the 14th minute when Noor Al-Rawabdeh managed to make a powerful shot to beat Kristijan Naumovski to put SFC ahead 1-0.
DPMM FC were saved from losing for the second time in the 20th minute when Naumovski brilliantly saved Alvin Fortes’ free kick but the player finally made up for the disappointment when he scored SFC’s second goal in the 29th minute.
Only a goal bar separated SFC from getting the third goal after Yohandry Orozco’s attempt only stopped on the bar a minute later and the 2-0 position remained until the end of the first half.
The hosts continued to settle when Naumovski was only able to see Al-Rawabdeh’s powerful shot hit his goal for the third time in the 56th minute before Fortes added a fourth goal in the 67th minute.
Previously, in the afternoon’s action, Singapore’s representative, Balestier Khalsa FC, beat Laos’ representative, Young Elephants FC 1-0 as a result of Kodai Tanaka’s penalty in the 42nd minute.
