Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has officially announced a 20-player squad for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with Malaysia fielding a balanced blend of experienced campaigners and emerging stars for both the team event (20–24 September) and the individual competition (25–29 September) at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium, Japan.
Malaysia’s line-up features several of the nation’s biggest names, including men’s singles ace Leong Jun Hao, rising youngster Justin Hoh, world-class men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, women’s doubles stars Pearly Tan–M. Thinaah, and experienced mixed doubles duo Goh Soon Huat–Shevon Lai, all expected to spearhead the country’s pursuit of medals.
The men’s team combines established internationals with promising young talents, while the women’s squad showcases a healthy mix of experienced doubles specialists and developing singles players, highlighting BAM’s commitment to both immediate success and long-term development.
For the individual competition, Malaysia has entered representatives across all five disciplines, with several pairs carrying realistic hopes of reaching the podium.
