Singapore Unveil 25-Man Squad for Hyundai Cup 2026

Singapore Head Coach Gavin Lee has officially named his 25-man squad for the ASEAN Championship Hyundai Cup 2026, with the Lions aiming to build on their semi-final finish in the previous edition.

The regional tournament will run from 24 July to 26 August, with Singapore opening their Group A campaign away to Cambodia before home fixtures against Timor-Leste and Indonesia, sandwiching a difficult trip to face defending champions Vietnam in Hanoi.

Having reached the last four in 2024, Singapore now face another demanding schedule, playing three matches in just eight days during the group stage.

One of the biggest talking points is the inclusion of 39-year-old goalkeeper Ridhuan Barudin, who comes into the squad following the injury to Rudy Khairullah.

The experienced Hougang United shot-stopper returns to the national setup after impressing during the latter stages of the Singapore Premier League season.

Lee believes Ridhuan’s leadership and professionalism will be just as valuable as his performances on the pitch.

“We’re naturally disappointed for Rudy, who worked extremely hard throughout the camp. In Ridhuan, we’re bringing in someone whose qualities extend beyond what he offers on the pitch. He’s an experienced professional who understands what it means to put the team first.”

Versatile defender Akram Azman also returns to the national team for the first time since November 2025, while promising youngsters Luth Harith (18), Raoul Suhaimi (20) and Nathan Mao (18) earn places in the final squad.

Singapore’s experienced core remains intact, led by record international Hariss Harun, defender Irfan Fandi, midfielder Song Uiyoung, and striker Shawal Anuar, who enters the tournament with 19 international goals.
