Negeri Sembilan FC has confirmed that all of its home fixtures for the 2026/27 Malaysia Super League will temporarily be played in the late afternoon, following the release of the official league schedule by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
According to an official statement from the club, home matches at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), Paroi are currently scheduled to kick off at 4.45pm or 5.00pm, as upgrading works on the stadium’s floodlighting system continue.
The temporary scheduling forms part of an ongoing effort to ensure STAR Paroi meets MFL’s stadium specifications, particularly the lighting requirements necessary to host night matches and matches officiated by international-standard referees.
Negeri Sembilan FC revealed that it is working closely with the Seremban City Council and the Negeri Sembilan State Government to accelerate the stadium improvement project.
The club stressed that once the upgraded floodlighting system satisfies MFL’s technical requirements, it will immediately submit a request to the league to move its remaining home fixtures back to their traditional night kick-off schedule.
The club remains optimistic that supporters will once again be able to enjoy evening football at STAR Paroi later in the season.
Negeri Sembilan FC acknowledged that afternoon kick-offs may present challenges for supporters but expressed appreciation for the understanding and continued backing shown by fans during the transition period.
The club also pledged to keep supporters informed of any developments regarding the stadium upgrade and future scheduling changes.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of all our supporters throughout this period. Updates on the latest developments will be communicated from time to time,” the statement read.
While the 2026/27 Super League campaign will initially begin with late-afternoon home fixtures, Negeri Sembilan FC has made it clear that restoring night football at STAR Paroi remains one of the club’s immediate priorities.
If the infrastructure upgrade is completed according to plan, the Jang side expects to seek MFL approval for all subsequent home matches to be played under the floodlights, providing supporters with the familiar matchday atmosphere at their home ground.
