Malaysia’s men’s doubles aces Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin Rumsani stormed into the Indonesian Masters final in emphatic fashion after brushing aside Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard–Mads Vestergaard on Saturday.
The world No. 9 independent pair were in imperious form at the iconic Istora Senayan, dismantling the Danish duo 21-9, 21-15 in just 28 minutes to underline their growing confidence and sharpness.
From the opening rally, Sze Fei–Izzuddin dictated the pace with relentless pressure, tight net play and powerful finishing, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up as the Malaysians cruised through the semi-final.
Standing between them and the title on Sunday will be Indonesia’s Raymond Indra–Nikolaus Joaquin, the surprise finalists who sent the home crowd into raptures earlier in the day.
The world No. 23 pairing produced a stunning performance to upset their higher-ranked compatriots Sabar Gutama–Moh Reza, winning 21-19, 21-14 in the other semi-final.
For Sze Fei–Izzuddin, the final represents a golden opportunity to end their title drought, having last lifted a trophy at the Indian Open in January last year.
With momentum firmly on their side and form peaking at the right time, the Malaysian duo will head into the final determined to silence the home fans and reclaim their place on the top step of the podium.
