Indonesia produced a dominant display as they overpowered Chinese Taipei 6-0 in an international friendly on Friday, at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
The hosts fielded a strong lineup led by Serie A goalkeeper Emil Audero, with Rizky Ridho wearing the captain’s armband and striker Ramadhan Sananta spearheading the attack. Chinese Taipei responded with Chiu Lin Huang in goal and Chia Huang Yu tasked to lead their frontline.
It took only four minutes for Indonesia to break the deadlock, as Jordi Amat opened the scoring with a composed finish.
The Garuda continued to pile on the pressure, and in the 23rd minute, Chinese Taipei’s Ming Hsiu Chao inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, doubling Indonesia’s lead.
Just 10 minutes later, Marc Klok of Persib Bandung struck Indonesia’s third, before Eliano Reijnders added a fourth in the 38th minute to complete a ruthless first half. The hosts went into the break comfortably ahead at 4-0.
After halftime, Indonesia showed no signs of slowing down. Their Malaysian league-based forward Ramadhan Sananta made it 5-0 in the 58th minute, before Sandy Walsh capped off the scoring spree just two minutes later with the sixth goal of the night.
Chinese Taipei attempted several late efforts to salvage pride, but Indonesia’s backline remained solid, ensuring a clean sheet for Emil Audero and sealing a commanding victory.
The result underlines Indonesia’s attacking prowess and depth, with six different names contributing to the scoresheet, including an own goal. It also highlights the strength of the squad under coach Shin Tae-yong as they continue their preparations for more competitive fixtures ahead.
