Dion Cools, defender of Malaysia national team from Buriram United admits that his status as captain gives him extra motivation to help the team appear more positive in the upcoming international friendlies.
Previously, in 2 International Friendly ‘A’ Matches last June, Dion Cools was absence due to marriage.
“When I go into action, I definitely want to give my best regardless of whether I am given the captain’s armband or not. What’s important is that I can help the team win.” Dion said.
“I am always proud every time I put on the national jersey, but it must be acknowledged that the trust as team leader boosts my spirit and confidence to remain positive,”
“We had two very good performances last June, but now it’s time for more serious work. The two games against China and Syria are very difficult because of their higher ranking.”
“I hope the players are ready because it is an early preparation before going through the qualifying campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the AFC Asian Cup 2023 later,”
