ONE Championship has announced a significant change in its event lineup, confirming that ONE 169 will be relocated from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, to the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, due to contractual obligations with its Thai partners.
The event, originally scheduled for November 9, 2024, will now take place in Bangkok, highlighting the organization’s ongoing partnership with the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium and its commitment to expanding its reach in Southeast Asia.
The relocated ONE 169 promises an electrifying card, headlined by a blockbuster bout between three-time ONE MMA World Champion Anatoly Malykhin of Russia, who will defend his heavyweight (225-265 lbs) title against Senegalese wrestling sensation “Rung Rung” Oumar Khan. Malykhin, known for his devastating power and wrestling pedigree, will face the physically imposing Khan, setting the stage for a thrilling clash in the heavyweight division.
In addition to the main event, the card will feature ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon making his sixth title defense on home soil. The Thai superstar will take on Jacob Smith, a fierce competitor from the United Kingdom, in what is sure to be a high-octane contest. Rodtang, revered for his relentless style and dominance in the Muay Thai world, aims to continue his reign and delight the local crowd at Lumpinee.
For fans who had already purchased tickets for the Atlanta event, Ticketmaster will issue full refunds. Additionally, ONE Championship is offering those fans the opportunity to register for priority access to tickets for its 2025 events in the United States.
Despite the relocation of ONE 169, ONE Championship remains committed to its North American audience, confirming that for the third consecutive year, it will air 12 live primetime events monthly on Prime Video in the United States and Canada. The organization is planning two major events in the U.S. next year, slated for May 24 and December 6, 2025, continuing to strengthen its foothold in the American market.
Looking ahead, ONE Championship has also revealed that ONE 170, scheduled for January 24, 2025, at Bangkok’s Impact Arena, will serve as the main event for the highly anticipated filming of “The Beast In Me,” an action-packed MMA drama co-produced by ONE. The film, set for release in 2025, will feature prominent actors Russell Crowe and Daniel Macpherson.
More details on the fight lineups, ticket sales, and the release of the film are expected to be announced in the coming months, as ONE Championship continues to deliver top-tier combat sports entertainment to fans across the globe.
