Malaysian Football League (MFL) has issued a firm stance against any form of negative behaviour and irresponsible actions by a minority of local football supporters, stressing that such incidents have no place in Malaysian football.
Following a recent incident in Terengganu that sparked widespread attention, MFL urged all clubs to take stronger responsibility in monitoring and controlling the conduct of their respective supporters to prevent any disruption to public order and safety.
In its statement, the league emphasised that football must remain a sport that promotes unity, passion, and sportsmanship — not a platform for chaos or actions that could threaten community security.
MFL believes that the behaviour displayed by a small group of supporters can damage the reputation of Malaysian football, which continues to work towards a more professional and positive image both domestically and internationally.
The league reiterated that Malaysian football should be viewed as a symbol of togetherness, where fans come together in celebration of the game rather than creating disturbances that bring unnecessary concern to the public.
As the Super League season progresses, MFL’s message serves as a clear reminder: supporter passion must be expressed responsibly, with respect for the law, public safety, and the integrity of the sport.
