Kedah Darul Aman collected 3 points after invading to win over Melaka United with a score of 3-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka.
Melaka playing without imported players due to salary problems, KDA clearly took advantage of the situation faced by Malacca when they scored the first goal of the match through an attractive shot by Mahmoud Nayef Ahmad Al-Mardi in the 13th minute.
Former national striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha had a chance to score an equalizing goal in the 20th and 22nd minute but his first attempt was high over the goal post and the second was successfully saved by goalkeeper Mohd Shahril Saari.
Harith Naem also had a chance to equalize at m-42 but his attempt was saved by the visitors’ defence.
Continuing the second half, KDA continued to push to add to the score after Melaka was seen as still eager to give resistance, but Mahmud’s attempt in the 48th minute and 72nd minute went astray.
A series of opportunities were produced by Hijau Kuning through Ngah Wanja in the 72nd minute and three minutes later the fiber player Muhammad Fayadh Zulkifli still failed to penetrate the Melaka fortress.
KDA’s continuous efforts finally paid off through goals from Fayadh in the 83rd minute and Mahmoud in the 89th minute to allow them to win comfortably.
