Johor Darul Ta’zim head coach Xisco Muñoz has issued a clear rallying call to his squad — play with aggression, eliminate errors, and seize control from the first whistle when they host Buriram United in the first leg of the Shopee Cup 2025/26 semi-final first leg.
The Spanish tactician emphasized the importance of maintaining focus throughout the match, warning against costly mistakes that could prove decisive in such a high-stakes encounter.
“Every player must show a positive attitude. We cannot allow simple errors to happen again,” said Muñoz.
“Defensively, we must stay focused from the first minute until the final whistle.”
Muñoz believes playing at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium provides a crucial edge, with JDT expected to impose their tempo in front of a passionate home crowd.
“Whenever we play at home, we aim to be aggressive from the start and deliver our best performance,” he added.
“This match is very important for us, so we cannot afford to slip.”
The Southern Tigers are also driven by revenge, having suffered a 1-2 defeat to Buriram United in their previous meeting during the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26 league stage last September 2025.
