Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan-gon has identified the club’s playing DNA as the decisive factor ahead of their Shopee Cup clash against Cong An Hanoi FC.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference at MBPJ Stadium, Pan-gon expressed confidence that the identity instilled by his coaching team will help Selangor sustain their impressive run in the competition.
While acknowledging CAHN’s quality, particularly their strong organisational structure, the South Korean tactician stressed that Selangor are equally prepared to rise to the challenge.
“I’ve watched CAHN and they are a very strong team, especially in terms of organisation. We respect them,” said Pan-gon.
“However, we are also strong. Our focus is to continue developing Selangor’s style of play — controlling and dominating the game in matches like this.”
Pan-gon added that belief and confidence will be crucial as Selangor aim to impose their identity on the encounter.
“Even though they are strong, I believe in moving forward by building our DNA and our football. I hope the players play with confidence and deliver their best performance.”
Selangor will look to extend their unbeaten record in the Shopee Cup when they host Cong An Hanoi FC on 28 January at MBPJ Stadium.
