Perak FA have officially confirmed their participation in the upcoming A1 Semi-Pro League, marking a critical step in the revival of the state’s football legacy.
The announcement was made by Perak Football Association (PAFA) President, Dato’ Haji Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin, following a meeting with Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad. The decision comes after PAFA previously conveyed their intention to join the league to Amateur Football League (AFL) Chairman, Datuk Wira Yusoff Mahadi.
“This marks an important phase in the revival, recovery, and rebuilding of a competitive and sustainable football ecosystem in Perak,” read an official statement from PAFA.
The club, a storied name in Malaysian football with a rich heritage and loyal fanbase, has been undergoing structural challenges in recent seasons. The A1 Semi-Pro League now offers a platform for the team to regroup and reignite their path back to top-tier football.
The announcement has been met with overwhelming positivity from Perak fans who have long yearned to see the Bos Gaurus return to competitive action within the Malaysian League system.
The A1 Semi-Pro League is expected to be highly competitive, with Perak set to face off against ambitious sides such as Bunga Raya Damansara FC, Gombak FC, and Manjung City FC.
PAFA also extended its gratitude to Datuk Seri Saarani and the Perak state government for their unwavering support in helping rebuild the club’s glory days.
