Johor Darul Ta’zim II were officially crowned champions of the Liga A1 Semi-Pro 2025/26 after fighting back to secure a crucial 2-2 draw against Kelantan WTS on Monday night in Kota Bharu.
The valuable point was enough to confirm JDT II’s status as league champions with one match still remaining before the end of the season, completing a remarkable campaign for the Southern Tigers’ reserve squad.
Heading into Matchweek 29 knowing that a draw would be sufficient to seal the title, JDT II faced a stern challenge from a determined Kelantan WTS side in front of the home supporters.
The hosts stunned the league leaders early on and established a two-goal advantage before halftime through strikes from Nazrin Nawi and Dandy Arbdallah, leaving JDT II under heavy pressure at the break.
Despite trailing 2-0, Josep Ferré’s side showed the mentality and composure of champions in the second half.
The comeback began in the 51st minute when Danish Hakimi pulled one goal back to reignite JDT II’s hopes.
With momentum gradually shifting towards the visitors, JDT II continued to press forward relentlessly in search of the equaliser that would secure the title.
Their persistence was finally rewarded in the 76th minute when Danish Zahir found the back of the net to complete the comeback and spark celebrations among the JDT II camp.
The final whistle confirmed a historic achievement for the club as JDT II officially lifted the Liga A1 Semi-Pro crown with 62 points, four points clear of closest challengers Selangor FC II, who remain in second place.
