Malaysia Futsal National Team earned first 3 points in the first match after beating Brunei DS Futsal National Team scoring 11-0 in the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024 Group Stage, Group A at Terminal Hall in Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhonratchasima
The match, is showcased Malaysia’s control from start to finish under the guidance of head coach Rakphol Sainetngam.
The relentless pressure Malaysia applied paid off early when Syed Aizad Daniel Syed Nasir opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Following a well-placed corner kick by Firdaus Ambiah, Syed Aizad executed a powerful left-footed strike from outside the D, beating Brunei goalkeeper Abdul Azim Abdul Rahman.
Just three minutes later, Malaysia doubled their lead. When Abdul Azim couldn’t secure Danial Dain’s initial attempt, Ridzwan Bakri pounced, slotting the ball home with ease. Syahir Iqbal Khan Akbar Khan added a third with a stunning long-range shot in the 11th minute, putting Malaysia firmly in command.
The second half saw Malaysia’s goal spree continue, starting with Awalluddin Mat Nawi’s penalty in the 21st minute after Ridzwan was fouled inside the D area. Malaysia then added six more goals, courtesy of Syahir Iqbal in the 22nd and 36th minutes, Syed Aizad (25th minute), Abu Haniffa Hassan (26th minute), Faris Johan (27th and 40th minutes), and Ridzwan (33rd minute).
With this emphatic victory, Malaysia secured their first three points and sent a strong message to their rivals in Group A. They will face a tougher test in their next match against Vietnam, scheduled for tomorrow evening, where they aim to maintain their momentum and continue their bid for championship glory.
