Palestine national team made history by earning their first point in this round after tying with Korea Republic national team scoring 0-0 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 3 Group B at Seoul World Cup Stadium, Seoul.
Korea Republic, who had last played Palestine in a World Cup qualifier 10 years ago during the Brazil 2014 qualifiers, struggled to break through Palestine’s disciplined two-line defense.
Despite having talented players like Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in on the flanks, Korea had difficulty creating scoring opportunities. Central forwards Joo Min-kyu and Oh Se-hoon, who was brought on as a substitute in the second half, were unable to make a significant impact.
Palestine nearly took the lead early in the first half, but their goal was ruled out due to an offside call. As the game progressed, Korea brought in all of their European-based attackers, including Son Heung-min, Lee Kang-in, and Hwang Hee-chan. However, Palestine’s defense, led by a goalkeeper and center back without club teams, held firm and denied Korea’s efforts.
In the end, both teams shared the points, a result that came as a surprise to Korea Republic. This hard-earned point marked a significant achievement for Palestine in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
