Thailand have officially withdrawn their Women’s RoV (Arena of Valor) national team from the 33rd SEA Games, following a major disciplinary issue involving one of the players.
The announcement was made live by Santi Lohthong, President of the Esports Association of Thailand (EAT), confirming that the decision takes immediate effect.
The withdrawal stems from the disqualification of player Napat Warasin(Tokyogurl) by the competition organisers.
According to an official statement, the player was found to have violated Article 9.4.3 of the Esports Technical Handbook, which prohibits use of unauthorised third-party software, or Hardware modification during competition
The incident was reported to have occurred on 15 December 2025.
Santithorn stressed that the decision was made to uphold sporting integrity, especially as Thailand are the host nation of the SEA Games.
“I hereby announce that Thailand will withdraw the Women’s AOV national team from the 33rd SEA Games.”
“We respect the rules, we respect friendship, and we respect sportsmanship. What has happened is beyond responsibility. As the host country, we cannot allow the competition to continue under these circumstances.”
At the time of the announcement, Thailand were competing in the lower-bracket final against Laos, battling for a place in the gold medal match against Vietnam, the upper-bracket champions who had defeated Thailand the day before.
Thailand were leading 1–0 against Laos when the withdrawal was confirmed.
Santi expressed appreciation to Jonathan, President of the Laos Esports Association, for not lodging a protest Laos women’s team, for showing sportsmanship and respect
As a result, Laos advanced directly to the Women’s RoV gold medal match.
Following the incident, Talon Esports, Tokyogurl’s club team, announced the termination of her contract, and Garena, the publisher and organiser of RoV competitions in Thailand, issued an immediate ban on Tokyogurl from all Garena-sanctioned tournaments, effective 16 December 2025
