Selangor stamped their dominance in the Malaysia Futsal Cup 2025 after thrashing Pahang Rangers 13-3 in a one-sided final at the N9 Arena, Nilai, on Saturday night.
The highly anticipated clash saw both sides chasing their second MFC title, with Pahang banking on Brazilian duo Felipe Souza and Matheus Moura, while Selangor were spearheaded by captain Khairul Effendy.
It was Selangor’s Brazilian import, Vitor Fernandes, who stole the show, netting five goals in the first half alone. Rising Malaysian star Syahir Iqbal also impressed with a brace, while goals from Faris Johan and fellow import Evandro Borges gave the Red Giants a commanding 9-1 lead at halftime.
Pahang Rangers, champions in 2023, briefly showed hope when Razin Rahim scored in the sixth minute. However, their momentum collapsed following a red card to one of their players, leaving them unable to keep pace with Selangor’s relentless attacks.
The second half was no different, as Fernandes added three more goals to his tally, finishing the night with an incredible eight-goal haul. Captain Khairul Effendy joined the scoresheet before Pahang managed two late consolations through Iqhmal Najmie and Moura.
In the end, Selangor’s emphatic 13-3 victory secured their second Malaysia Futsal Cup title in history, cementing their status as the country’s futsal powerhouse.
