Johor Darul Ta’zim reaffirmed their dominance at the top of the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 table after cruising to a 7–0 demolition of PDRM FC at Stadium MPS, Selayang.
The reigning champions entered the match eager to return to winning ways after being held to a goalless draw by Japan’s Machida Zelvia in the AFC Champions League Elite, while PDRM were looking to build on their morale-boosting win over Kelantan TRW FC last week.
JDT head coach Xisco Muñoz fielded a strong lineup led by Super League all-time top scorer Bergson da Silva, supported by national stars Arif Aiman Hanapi, Jairo da Silva, and Ager Aketxe. For the hosts, Henri Doumbia spearheaded the attack, while Park Tae-su anchored the defence.
From kickoff, the Southern Tigers dominated possession and created numerous chances, forcing PDRM’s backline into desperate defending. The breakthrough came in the 28th minute, when Arif Aiman coolly slotted home to give JDT a deserved 1–0 lead.
Just five minutes later, the Malaysian winger struck again with a precise finish to double JDT’s advantage, sending the visiting fans into celebration. Despite relentless attacking pressure, the score remained 2–0 at halftime.
The second half saw no let-up from the league leaders. Bergson da Silva got his name on the scoresheet in the 54th minute, extending JDT’s lead to three goals with a clinical strike from close range.
Midfielder Eddy Israfilov added to the tally in the 67th minute, capitalising on a rebound after his initial shot was saved by Nor Hakeem Hamidun. The goal reflected JDT’s total control over the match as The Cops struggled to contain the onslaught.
Ten minutes later, Jairo da Silva continued his fine form, scoring his fifth league goal of the season with a composed finish in the 77th minute. Muñoz then rotated his squad, introducing Romel Morales and Manuel Hidalgo, both of whom made instant impact.
Morales netted JDT’s sixth goal in the 83rd minute, before Jairo added his second of the night just two minutes later to seal the emphatic 7–0 victory.
The result leaves JDT comfortably at the summit of the Super League standings with 21 points, maintaining their unbeaten record and underlining their status as the team to beat this season.
Despite PDRM’s late attempts to pull one back, the Southern Tigers’ defence stood firm to keep another clean sheet — a testament to their consistency and depth in all areas of the pitch.
Next, JDT will face Brunei DPMM FC on October 25, while PDRM FC host Negeri Sembilan FC on the same day.
