PIB FC crowned champions in this season after beating over Kuala Lumpur Rovers by penalties shoot-out with a score of 5-3 after tie in the 120 minutes 0-0 in the Liga M3 2022 Final at KLFA Stadium, Cheras.
During the actual match, KL Rovers managed to open the first goal through Muhammad Hadi Mezei in the 50th minute of the match.
However, in the 81st minute, Muhammad Khairu Anwar managed to equalize, forcing the match to be dragged into extra time.
However, the period was not enough for both teams to find a goal until the penalty decision was implemented.
K. Ramachandran’s men apparently did not waste the last chance for PIB FC who at the same time witnessed the opportunity to play on the Super League stage through the play-off action between the champion and runner-up teams of the M3 League season 2022 with the two bottom teams of the Premier League (based on the new format of the Malaysian League 2023).
Regardless of the eligibility of M3 League clubs to participate in the Super League this season or the following seasons, they must meet the requirements of the Club Licensing Regulations and the approval of the Board of Directors before being admitted to the Super League.
