Tan Cheng Hoe, former head coach of Malaysia national team, has been appointed the new head coach of Selangor FC, a club in Liga Super Malaysia replaced Michael Feichtenbeiner.
The 54-year-old Head Coach was previously in charge of the national team from 2018 to 2021. During his term, the Malaysian team managed to become the runner-up of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, in addition to producing one of the best performances of the national squad in the 2022 World cup Asian qualifiers 2nd round.
Besides that, Tan Cheng Hoe has also achieved several other successes at the Club level throughout his coaching career notably with Kedah FA by winning the Piala Malaysia in 2016 and Piala Sumbangsih in 2017. He was also awarded the Best Malaysian Football Coach Award (FAM) in 2016.
Based on his achievements and experience, the Club believes that Tan Cheng Hoe is the best candidate to take this team to a higher level next season.
“For me, Selangor FC is a club with great potential with good management and quality players. I am honored to be given the chance to contribute to this team. If given the opportunity, I am sure many coaches would want to manage a team like Selangor FC. That being said, this is my motivation for me to carry out my duties as the team’s new coach.” said by Tan Cheng Hoe.
“I am very grateful for being given the opportunity to be with the team earlier to help me make better plans for next season. I am confident that I can bring the team to a better level with the cooperation of all parties, especially the players, the management and the coaching staff. Let’s all work hard to ensure Selangor FC is on the right track.”
“In the near future, I hope the players can understand the style of play that I will demand from them. Furthermore, I also need to understand each player in the team because each individual is different, as they have their own character and way of playing, it is important for me to know all that. I think the quality they have can help me create a high fighting spirit within the team.”
In addition to the appointment of Selangor FC’s new Head Coach, we would also like to announce the appointment of our new First Team Technical Advisor, K.
