Hafizh Syahrin delivered a masterclass performance on home soil at Sepang International Circuit, storming to a historic nonuple victory in ASB1000 Race 1. The sensational win officially crowned the JDT Racing Team as the 2026 Team Overall Champions!
Riding the Ducati Panigale V4R, the Malaysian superstar completed the 14-lap race in 29:36.868 to cross the finish line in dominant fashion. Hafizh dropped the hammer early in the 77.602 km contest, clocking the official fastest lap of the race with a scorching 2:05.674 on Lap 4 while hitting a top speed of 290.3 km/h.
Local favorite Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi of Idemitsu Honda Racing Malaysia put up a hard-fought battle to secure P2 on his Honda CBR1000RR, crossing the line +6.188s behind Syahrin with a total time of 29:43.056. Keito Abe representing SDG HARC-PRO Honda Philippines rounded out the podium in P3 (+8.277s) with a total time of 29:45.145. Both Zaqhwan and Abe reached identical maximum speeds of 293.5 km/h during the race.
With Hafizh taking maximum points (25 pts) and teammate Joshua Waters securing 4 points with a P12 finish (30:53.097), the JDT Racing Team reached an untouchable 320 total points in the standings.
