Japan Open 2022 (Round 32) finished today. It started yesterday (30 Aug), early morning. A lot of country representatives exited the first round.
Men’s Singles
Malaysia’s single, LEE Zii Jia [5] and LIEW Daren, are leaving Japan Open 2022. On the other hand, the Japanese Kento MOMOTA [2] is also leaving the Japan Open.
Thailand’s Kunlavut VITIDSARN, walkover Anthony Sinisuka GINTING [6], will face his own country’s Kantaphon WANGCHAROEN. Bronze Medalist of the World Championship 2022’s Men’s Single, Taiwanese CHOU Tien Chen [4] advanced into Round 16 and will meet LU Guang Zu tomorrow.
LOH Kean Yew [8], a Singapore shuttler, defeated China’s ZHAO Jun Peng, and the latter stunned LEE Zii Jia at the World Championship 2022 (Round 16).
World Ranking No.3, Denmark’s Anders ANTONSEN, which advanced into Round 16, will face Japan’s Kodai NARAOKA.
Women’s Singles
Thailand’s Pornpawee CHOCHUWONG advanced into Round 16, where she will face China’s shuttler WANG Zhi Yi tomorrow at Court 4. Supanida KATETHONG also advanced into Round 16, which she will face Korea’s and World Ranking No.3, AN Se Young [3].
Ratchanok INTANON [8], a star player from Thailand, also advanced into Round 16. She will face China’s HAN Yue.
World Championship 2022 Silver’s Medalist, China CHEN Yu Fei [4] also advanced into Round 16, where she will face the United States shuttler’s Beiwen ZHANG tomorrow.
Taiwanese, TAI Tzu Ying [2], advanced into Round 16 after defeating Denmark’s Mia BLICHFELDT in three sets. The former will face Korea’s KIM Ga Eun tomorrow.
Men’s Doubles
Thailand’s Supak JOMKOH/Kittinupong KEDREN defeated Malaysia GOH V Shem/LIM Khim Wah in a straight sets, advancing into Round 16. The latter will face Indonesia’s Fajar ALFIAN, Muhammad Rian ARDIANTO [5].
The “Daddies” Mohammad AHSAN/Hendra SETIAWAN [3] advanced into Round 16, which will face China’s LIANG Wei Keng/WANG Chang. Meanwhile, Malaysia’s duo, ONG Yew Sin/TEO Ee Yi [8], defeated Netherland’s Ruben JILLE/Ties VAN DER LECQ in straight sets and advanced into Round 16, facing France’s Christo POPOV/Toma Junior POPOV.
Another Malaysia duo, MAN Wei Chong/Kai Wun TEE, was defeated by Indonesia, Marcus Fernaldi GIDEON/Kevin Sanjaya SUKAMULJO [1]. The No.1 seed will face Korea’s KIM Gi Jung/KIM Sa Rang in Round 16.
Women’s Doubles
Malaysia Women’s Doubles, Vivian HOO/LIM Chiew Sien, defeated Germany Linda EFLER/Isabel LOHAU in straight sets, playing China’s No.1 seed, CHEN Qing Chen/JIA Yi Fan [1], tomorrow. On the other hand, Malaysia’s Pearly TAN/THINAAH Muralitharan will face Korea’s BAEK Ha Na/Lee Yu Lim.
Thailand’s Jongkolphan KITITHARAKUL/Rawinda PARJONGJAI [7] face China’s ZHANG Shu Xian/ZHENG Yu. Another pair, Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN/Puttita SUPAJIRAKUL will play against Korea’s JEONG Na Eun, KIM Hye Jeong in the Round 16.
Mixed’s Doubles
Malaysia’s TAN Kian Meng/LAI Pei Jing [7] advance to Round 16 after defeating their own’s country CHAN Peng Soon/CHEAH Yee See. The qualifier will meet Taiwan YANG Po-Hsuan/HU Ling Fang. Malaysia GOH Soon Huat/LAI Shevon Jemie face Japan’s duo, Yuta WATANABE/Arisa HIGASHINO [3]. Malaysia duo, HOO Pang Ron/TOH Ee Wei will play against Netherland’s Robin TABELING/Selena PIEK.
Thailand mixed, Supak JOMKOH/Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN, will play against Mixed’s Seed No.1, China’s ZHENG Si Wei/HUANG Ya Qiong [1]. Another pair, Dechapol PUAVARANUKROH/Sapsiree TAERATTANACHAI [2], face Singapore’s HEE Yong Kai Terry/TAN Wei Han Jessica tomorrow.
