In the first round action, the former world champion was given great competition by the Taiwanese pair Chang Ko-chi-Po Li-wei before winning 22-20, 21-17 in 41 minutes.
The fifth-ranked pair in the world, which is seen as a national medal prospect at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games starting next July, will meet Taiwan’s Lee Yang-Wang Chi-lin pair.
