Vietnam U19 national team kept 1 point only in the first match after tied Myanmar U19 national team scoring 1-1 in the ASEAN U19 Boys Championship 2024 at Gelora 10 November Stadium, Surabaya.
Vietnam had a difficult opening match against Myanmar. In the first half, coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team actively controlled, held the ball, and attacked but were very stuck, with no clear opportunities created.
On the contrary, Myanmar was the team with the most dangerous attacks. In the second half, in the 59th minute, they unexpectedly opened the score after a messy corner kick and the scorer was Pyae Sone.
Immediately, Coach Hua Hien Vinh made a series of personnel changes and one of the substitutes spoke up at the right time. Midfielder Hoang Quang Dung scored a masterpiece in the 69th minute with a flawless long-range shot.
Having successfully equalized, U19 Vietnam pressed forward in search of victory but U19 Myanmar once again defended very tenaciously to preserve the result. In the last minute, Quang Vinh scored but the referee raised the flag for offside.
A draw cannot satisfy U19 Vietnam, this will put the players under certain psychological pressure when entering the next match with U19 Australia.
