Australia national football team has revealed its 26-player squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 3 Matchday 3-4.
The announcement comes as newly-appointed Head Coach, Tony Popovic, navigates a whirlwind period after stepping into the role just 12 days ago. Despite the tight timeline, Popovic has quickly assembled a team of experienced coaches and support staff and has now selected a squad ready to continue Australia’s qualification journey for the FIFA World Cup 2026™
Popovic expressed his eagerness to work with the squad as they gather in Adelaide to prepare for their first crucial qualifier against China PR.
“I’m looking forward to working with this group of players,” Popovic said. “We’ve selected a squad that brings a mix of experience and fresh talent, and I’m confident we can build on the work already done in this qualification campaign.”
