Adib Ra’op, left-back from Penang FC, said that he had no idea that his performance had often been monitored by Kim Pan-Gon, head coach Malaysia national team and that his hard work had been rewarded with a call to the national team camp for the first time.
Adib from Penang FC is one of the new bets for manager Kim Pan Gon to participate in two matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers against Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei.
“I feel grateful and somewhat proud of this news. My parents never thought I would get here (a call-up to the national squad), but this is thanks to my efforts. They also told me not to stay in prayer.” Adib said.
“I didn’t expect (Pan Gon to monitor the performance) because I only played for Penang FC and I didn’t feel like anyone was looking at me. What’s important, I have to do my best.”
“The other matter (of being selected to act) is up to the coaching ranks,”
