Laos U19 national team achieved their first three points after beating Timor-Leste U19 2-0 in the AFF U19 Championship 2022 Group stage Group B at Madya Stadium, Jakarta.
Laos managed to open the scoring over Timor Leste when the match lasted 39 minutes. Damoth Thongkhamsavath scored the opening goal for Michael Weiss’s team.
The advantage made the Lao players even more excited to score additional goals. Meanwhile, Timor Leste is trying to equalize.
Five minutes after the first goal, Laos can double the advantage over Timor Leste. This time the goal that changed the score to 2-0 was scored by Peter Phanthavong and lasted until the first half was over.
In the second half, Timor Leste immediately came out pressing to be able to reduce the position. It’s just that O Sol Nascente couldn’t score until the second half ended.
This result made Laos open their career with a positive result in the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup. Thongkhamsavath and friends opened the match with a win and temporarily top the Group A standings with three points.
Meanwhile, Timor Leste had to accept the fact that they lost in the first match. This result makes Timor Leste occupy the caretaker position.
