Thai League 1 side Ayutthaya United has officially announced the signing of former national team midfielder Sanrawat Dechmitr, marking a remarkable comeback to professional football for the 35-year-old veteran ahead of the 2025/26 Thai League 1 season.
Sanrawat, affectionately known as “Camp,” initially retired in mid-2024, following an extended period as a free agent that lasted over a year and a half. His last club stint was with Kedah Darul Aman FC in the Liga Super Malaysia, which ended after the 2022 season.
Despite stepping away from the pitch, Sanrawat’s influence remained fresh in Thai football memory. His crowning moment came in 2022, when he played a pivotal role in leading the Thailand national team to victory in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup — a tournament that marked the peak of his international career.
Now, in a dramatic turn of events, the experienced playmaker is set to lace up his boots once more, this time with newly promoted Ayutthaya United, as they prepare for their debut campaign in the top tier.
