David Rowley, Midfielder Malaysia national team has officially signed with Chanthaburi FC, a rising club in Thai League 2, for the upcoming 2025/26 season, marking a new chapter in the 35-year-old midfielder’s professional career.
Rowley, known for his composure, vision, and leadership in midfield, arrives in Thailand following a strong stint with Sri Pahang FC, where he played a key role in helping the club reach the Unifi Piala Malaysia 2024/25 final, finishing as runners-up.
A seasoned figure in the Malaysian football scene, Rowley has donned the jerseys of multiple top-flight clubs including PDRM FA, Negeri Sembilan FA, Kelantan FA, Kedah Darul Aman FC, Penang FC, and most recently Sri Pahang FC, where he served from 2022 until his recent move.
Capped by the Malaysia national team, Rowley has been a reliable and experienced presence in the Harimau Malaya setup, contributing significantly both on and off the pitch.
This move also marks a return to familiar territory for Rowley, who previously played in Thailand in 2013 with Chumphon FC and Nara United in the former Thailand Regional League Division 2 (now known as Thai League 3).
Chanthaburi FC will hope Rowley’s international experience and versatility bring added stability and firepower to their midfield, as they aim to mount a strong promotion challenge in Thai League 2.
