Selangor FC have vowed to continue defending the integrity of the Club and its supporters after the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Appeal Committee dismissed the Red Giants’ appeal regarding alleged misconduct during the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Negeri Sembilan FC on 29 October 2025.
The Club had earlier submitted what it described as irrefutable evidence to the FAM Appeal Committee, hoping to overturn the sanctions issued by the FAM Disciplinary Committee. However, on 25 November 2025, the Appeal Committee upheld the initial punishment — dealing a heavy blow to the team’s FA Cup campaign.
With the appeal rejected, Selangor FC must now is Pay a fine of RM100,000, and Play two Piala FA Malaysia home matches behind closed doors
These sanctions will come into immediate effect, starting with the FA Cup Semi-Final Second Leg against Sabah FC on 30 November 2025, followed by the Club’s first home fixture of next season’s FA Cup.
The decision means the Red Giants must battle for a place in the FA Cup Final without the roar of their fans — a major setback for a team that thrives on the energy of its faithful.
Unwilling to accept what they believe to be an unfair ruling, Selangor FC have confirmed they will escalate the case to the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) in Kuala Lumpur.
This move is fully in line with Article 77 and Article 129 of the FAM Disciplinary Code — which clearly appoint AIAC as the sole independent arbitral body recognised by FAM for such matters. Importantly, this means the case cannot be brought before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Selangor FC emphasised that the decision to proceed to AIAC is rooted in the Club’s commitment to defending its stakeholders and ensuring transparency in the disciplinary process.
In a firm statement, the Club reiterated its stance:
Selangor FC remains committed to upholding the integrity of the Club and ensuring the interests of its stakeholders are protected.
With the FA Cup Semi-Final Second Leg looming and no fans allowed in the stands, the Red Giants now face both a legal and sporting battle.
