Qatar national team, host and defending champions of the tournament keep 3 points in the first match after win Lebanon national team scoring 3-0 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group A at Lusail Stadium.
The offensive game of Qatar was evident early on, with a disallowed goal in the 6th minute from Almoez Ali due to offside after a VAR check.
However, they found the breakthrough in the last minute of the first half (45th minute) when Akram Afif converted a counter-attack, giving Qatar a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Qatar continued their offensive prowess, with Almoez Ali heading in a goal in the 56th minute, extending their lead to 2-0.
The victory was sealed in injury time (90+6th minute) when Akram Afif’s left-footed shot found the back of the net, securing a 3-0 win for Qatar. This successful start earns Qatar three valuable points in the group stage.
The host and defending champions have showcased their attacking strength and will look to build on this momentum in the upcoming matches of the tournament.
