Head coach Peter Cklamovski believes the unity and chemistry within Harimau Malaya have reached an exceptional level as Malaysia prepare to face Nepal in their fifth match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers tomorrow.
The Australian tactician, who has been steadily shaping the national team’s identity since his arrival, said the collective spirit remains one of Malaysia’s biggest strengths heading into the must-win encounter.
Cklamovski confirmed that the squad is in peak condition — mentally and physically — as they chase another three points to keep their qualification hopes strong.
“Nepal recently changed their coach, and that makes them an unpredictable and tough opponent,” he said. “But for us, the key is controlling the match and playing the best football we can for our supporters.”
He added that the team’s motivation is equally matched by their respect for Nepal, emphasizing that Malaysia’s performance must inspire confidence across the country.
The head coach also touched on the call-up of young forward Luqman Hakim Shamsudin, whose resurgence in the Super League earned him a national recall.
“We’ve monitored him closely since his return. He’s a good talent with potential, just like the rest,” Cklamovski noted, expressing satisfaction with the squad’s progress. “From day one until now, the process has been promising. The players inspire me — what we’ve built is very special.”
In a brief but telling response, Cklamovski also signaled his intention to continue leading Harimau Malaya into next year, answering simply: “Yes” when asked about his future with the national team.
Malaysia will take on Nepal tomorrow with confidence, unity, and momentum on their side — all crucial elements in their mission to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
