Vietnam U16 national team secured a seat of the semi-final after beating Myanmar U16 national team, scoring 5-1 in the ASEAN U16 Boys Championship 2024 Group Stage, Group B at Manahan Stadium, Solo.
Vietnam started strong, with Viet Long’s dangerous shot in the 5th minute being excellently saved by Myanmar’s goalkeeper Wai Yan.
Myanmar managed their first shot towards Thang Long’s goal in the 16th minute but it was off target.
Myanmar showed improvement, with Kyaw Thiha’s dangerous shot being blocked by Thang Long.
Hong Phong’s classy free kick in the 66th minute was headed in by Duy Dang, extending the lead to 3-1.
Thai Hieu capitalized on a defensive mistake in the 72nd minute, skillfully handling the ball to score and make it 4-1.
In the 81st minute, Duy Dang’s cross was tapped into the net by Viet Long, finalising the score at 5-1.
With this commanding victory, U16 Vietnam topped Group B and confidently advanced to the semi-finals. They will be eagerly awaiting their semi-final opponents as they continue their campaign.
