Johor Darul Ta’zim has expressed its support for a proposed roundtable discussion involving Malaysian league stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue to address key issues surrounding the future of domestic football.
In an official club statement, the reigning Malaysian champions welcomed the proposal to organize a roundtable session that has already received backing from a majority of clubs competing in the Liga Super Malaysia and broader Malaysia League structure.
JDT believes such a platform would provide an important opportunity for stakeholders to exchange views and collectively discuss solutions aimed at strengthening the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of Malaysian football.
However, the club also proposed that the discussion should extend beyond club administrators and league officials. According to JDT, supporters should also be represented in the conversation.
The Southern Tigers suggested that fan representatives — including ultras groups and official supporters’ clubs from all teams — should be invited to participate in the roundtable discussion. This approach would allow fans to directly hear and contribute ideas and suggestions that will be discussed during the meeting.
JDT believes the inclusion of supporters will help ensure transparency and foster a stronger connection between decision-makers and the football community.
The proposal comes amid growing calls across Malaysian football for collaborative discussions involving clubs, governing bodies, and stakeholders to address structural, financial, and operational challenges facing the domestic league system.
