Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) delivered another masterclass in racecraft, securing his fourth consecutive victory of the 2025 MotoGP season at the Gran Premio YPF Energía de Argentina.

In an electrifying late-race battle, the six-time MotoGP World Champion outmaneuvered his younger brother, Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), in the closing laps to extend his unbeaten run. Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) claimed a well-earned third place, marking his first podium since 2021, while reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was left frustrated in fourth.

As the lights went out, Marc Marquez seized the holeshot into Turn 1, fending off Alex Marquez, while drama struck behind them. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) tangled with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and crashed out in the opening corner, setting the tone for an eventful race.

At the front, Johann Zarco (LCR Honda CASTROL) put intense pressure on third-place Bagnaia, with multiple aggressive attempts at Turn 8. Their duel allowed the Marquez brothers to build a 0.7-second gap over the rest of the field within the first three laps. On Lap 4, Alex Marquez capitalized on a slight mistake from Marc at Turn 1 to snatch the lead, while Morbidelli surged past Zarco and Bagnaia to claim third.

As the race settled, Alex led Marc by 0.3s, Morbidelli trailed by 0.7s, and Bagnaia struggled to keep pace, slipping further behind his compatriot. Zarco, meanwhile, remained within striking distance of the reigning champion.

With 10 laps remaining, Marc Marquez had a scare at Turn 11, momentarily losing time. However, he quickly recovered and began relentlessly pressuring Alex. On Lap 18, he made his first attempt to reclaim the lead at Turn 5 but ran wide, allowing his younger brother to hold firm.

The tension reached its peak on Lap 19, as both brothers exchanged fastest laps. Marc, determined to assert his authority, launched another attack at Turn 5, this time making it stick. Alex attempted to respond but lacked the pace to challenge the Ducati factory rider. By Lap 22, Marc had extended his lead to over a second, ensuring his grip on victory.

Behind them, Bagnaia intensified his efforts to steal third from Morbidelli but ultimately fell short. The Italian held his ground, securing his long-awaited podium finish.

With a 1.5-second lead in hand, Marc Marquez crossed the line to claim his fourth win from four races in 2025, cementing his dominance with two Sprint and two Grand Prix victories. Alex Marquez settled for second, while Morbidelli celebrated a long-overdue return to the podium.
