Bojan Hodak, head coach of Kuala Lumpur City revealed they did not have pressure for this game and come for enjoying the game in the match vs Sogdiana Jizzakh in the AFC Cup 2022 Inter Zone final tomorrow.
Kuala Lumpur City participates in AFC Cup 2022 as the champions of TM Piala Malaysia 2021 and is nearest to making history for 2nd club of Malaysia to be a champion AFC Cup after Johor Darul Ta’Zim is the first-team champion in 2015.
“Before tournament, our expectations were just to get out of the group stage, so we are enjoying the journey one game at a time and will want to play well and enjoy being there tomorrow.” Bojan Hodak said in a pre-match press conference.
“We did our homework on Sogdiana. Hasanov is 39 but he plays like he is 19, most of the dangerous situations come from him and he is their top scorer. They are really good at set-pieces and [Marko] Kolakovic is especially a dangerous player in the air.”
“After COVID, lots of things have changed and there are now no direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent, so we had to travel for 28 hours through Korea [Republic]. The weather is different but luckily, it’s still not so cold yet in Uzbekistan, but the problem is humidity because here it is very dry while we are used to humid weather in Malaysia, but we came here three days earlier to adapt and by tomorrow, the boys will be ready to go.”
“The Pitch is not in the best condition so both teams might not be able to play nice football, but it will be a good fight. Tomorrow there is no need to play beautiful football as everyone will only remember who reached the final.”
AFC Cup 2022 Inter-zone final between Sogdiana Jizaakh(UZB) VS Kuala Lumpur City (MAS) will be played on 5 October at 9.00 pm. (Malaysian time) at Sogdiana Sporting Complex, Jizzakh.
