Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Nike have extended one of the longest-running kit partnerships in Malaysian football, with the global sportswear giant continuing as the Southern Tigers’ official kit manufacturer for a remarkable 12th consecutive season.
The milestone was highlighted as JDT officially unveiled its new Home and Away jerseys for the 2026/27 season during a launch event with supporters at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 15 August 2026.
Nike has been JDT’s official kit partner since 2014, making the 2026/27 campaign the 12th season of collaboration between the Malaysian powerhouse and one of the world’s most recognisable sports brands.
The continued partnership represents more than a jersey supply agreement. It reflects the evolution of JDT from a dominant Malaysian club into an increasingly prominent force competing across domestic, regional and continental football.
JDT have built a distinctive football identity over the past decade, and Nike has remained part of that journey.
From the club’s rise to domestic dominance to its campaigns on the Asian stage, the Nike swoosh has become closely associated with the Southern Tigers’ modern identity.
The extension of the partnership comes at another significant moment for JDT, who enter the 2026/27 season as reigning champions and continue to target success across multiple competitions.
JDT Chief Executive Officer Luis Garcia said the club was delighted to continue working with Nike as the Southern Tigers embark on another demanding season.
“We are very excited to introduce our Home & Away jerseys for 2026/27 as we enter a new season where once again we will compete in domestic, regional and continental competitions.”
Garcia also underlined the significance of the long-term relationship with Nike.
“This jersey launch also marks our long-term partnership with Nike, once again demonstrating their high commitment to producing such an amazing jersey for us.”
For JDT, the longevity of the partnership is also a reflection of mutual trust.
“I believe this long-term partnership with Nike reflects their trust in JDT’s vision and direction.”
The 12-year relationship has developed alongside JDT’s transformation into one of Southeast Asia’s most successful clubs.
The latest collaboration therefore arrives at a time when expectations surrounding the Southern Tigers remain exceptionally high.
JDT are no longer competing simply for domestic honours. Their ambitions extend across Malaysia, Southeast Asia and the AFC competitions, making the club’s image and commercial partnerships increasingly important elements of its long-term strategy.
The continued presence of Nike provides another symbol of that growth.
For supporters, meanwhile, the new jerseys represent the latest chapter in a partnership that has accompanied the club through a remarkable period of success.
