Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan-gon has made it clear—there is no pressure, only purpose—as his side prepares to face Vietnam’s Nam Dinh FC in the first leg of the ACC Shopee Cup 2025/26 semi-final this Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of the crucial clash at Stadium MBPJ, the South Korean tactician emphasized that Selangor’s identity remains rooted in control, intensity, and attacking dominance.
“Our DNA is to control and dominate the game,” said Pan-gon. “Nam Dinh are a strong team, but we are not under pressure playing at home. We will show confidence and try to press them from the start.”
With a place in the final at stake, Pan-gon was direct about his expectations—victory is non-negotiable in the first leg.
“The result is the most important thing at home. We must win before going away to gain an advantage,” he stressed. “Reaching the final would have a huge impact on the club and our supporters.”
Selangor come into the tie with strong domestic momentum, and their attacking structure—built around fluid movement and high pressing—will be key against a resilient Nam Dinh side.
The semi-final clash is set for Wednesday, 5 May at 9:00 PM at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya, with Selangor looking to capitalize on home support before the return leg in Vietnam.
