Port FC will play their home matches in the Shopee Cup 2026/27 at Thammasat Stadium, Pathum Thani after their preferred home ground, PAT Stadium, was not approved by tournament organizers.
The decision follows an inspection by officials from the ASEAN Football Federation, who assessed PAT Stadium after it had been submitted as the club’s primary venue for the regional competition.
According to reports, PAT Stadium did not receive approval because it failed to satisfy several venue requirements outlined in the AFF’s competition regulations.
Despite the club’s efforts to prepare the stadium for the tournament, a number of facility-related limitations meant the venue could not be certified for Shopee Cup fixtures.
As a result, Port FC has been forced to relocate its home matches for the regional competition.
With PAT Stadium unavailable, the Lions will host their Shopee Cup matches at Thammasat Stadium in Rangsit, one of Thailand’s largest football venues and a regular host of international and continental fixtures.
The temporary move ensures the club can meet the tournament’s stadium standards while continuing its campaign in Southeast Asia’s premier club competition.
Although Port FC will lose the familiar atmosphere of PAT Stadium for the tournament, the club is expected to receive strong backing from supporters at its temporary home.
The venue change represents an important logistical adjustment as Port FC prepares to compete against some of the strongest clubs in Southeast Asia during the 2026/27 Shopee Cup.
While disappointed not to play at PAT Stadium, the club will now aim to make Thammasat Stadium a fortress as it pursues success on the regional stage.
