Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim FC were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw against Terengganu FC in Week 22 of the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Despite dominating large spells of the match, the Southern Tigers were unable to find a decisive winner against a resilient Terengganu side.
JDT started with Syihan Hazmi between the posts, while prolific striker Bergson da Silva led the attack.
Terengganu, meanwhile, relied on goalkeeper Rahadiazli Rahalim, with Brazilian forward Careca spearheading their frontline and captain Shahrul Nizam marshalling the defence.
The breakthrough arrived in the 23rd minute when Bergson once again proved his clinical edge, finishing off a well-worked move to give JDT a deserved 1–0 lead.
The hosts continued to push for a second goal, applying sustained pressure on Terengganu’s defensive line. However, the visitors remained disciplined and looked dangerous on the counter, with Careca testing the JDT defence.
Their persistence paid off in the 36th minute when Ehson Panjshanbe found the equaliser, bringing Terengganu level at 1–1 heading into the break.
After the restart, both teams raised the tempo in search of a winning goal. JDT created several promising chances through Bergson and Syahmi Safari, but Rahadiazli Rahalim stood firm with a series of crucial saves.
In a bid to inject fresh attacking energy, JDT introduced Ajdin Mujagic in the final 15 minutes, replacing Bergson.
Despite relentless pressure from the home side, Terengganu’s defence held strong, frustrating the league leaders as the clock ticked down.
Terengganu nearly snatched a late winner through a swift counter-attack in the closing stages, but their final effort failed to hit the target.
At full-time, both teams had to settle for a share of the points in a hard-fought encounter.
