Johor Darul Ta’zim effectively punched their ticket to the semi-finals with a ruthless 5–0 demolition of Melaka in the Piala Malaysia 2025/26 first leg of the quarter-finals at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
Hector Hevel and Bergson da Silva set the tempo from the opening whistle, but it was Mujagic who stole the spotlight early. Just five minutes into the contest, the striker found himself in the right place to tap home an easy opener.
Before the visitors could catch their breath, Mujagic struck again. In the 8th minute, he unleashed a thunderous strike that left Haziq Aiman rooted to the spot, making it 2-0 before the clock had even hit double digits.
Melaka’s captain Irfan Zakaria tried to steady the ship, and the visitors had a rare glimpse of goal in the 27th minute. Do Dong-hyun stepped up for a free kick, but his effort lacked the precision to trouble Christian Abad in the JDT goal.
JDT didn’t take their foot off the gas after the break. In the 61st minute, Mujagic completed his fairy-tale debut, finding the back of the net to secure his hat-trick.
In the 73rd minutes, Manuel Hidalgo joined the party with a sublime individual finish. And just two minutes later, Marcos Guilherme rounded off the scoring to make it 5–0, capitalizing on a fatigued Melaka backline.
In the second leg, Melaka FC will be a host at Hang Jebat Stadium, Krubong on 25 February.
