Kuching City stormed into the Piala FA Malaysia 2025/26 quarter-finals in style after demolishing DPMM FC 7-1 in their Round of 16 second-leg clash at Stadium Negeri, Kuching, sealing a commanding 9-4 aggregate victory.
The Cats wasted no time as Ronald Ngah Wanja broke the deadlock just two minutes into the game. By the 13th minute, Danial Asri doubled the lead, putting the home side firmly in control.
Brunei DPMM responded with attacking intent, led by Ramadhan Sananta, but Kuching goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli stood tall with several sharp saves to deny the visitors.
Right before halftime, Ngah struck again in stoppage time to give Kuching City a comfortable 3-0 cushion at the break.
The second half continued in the same vein, with Kuching City relentless in attack. Ngah completed his hat-trick in the 54th minute, showcasing his clinical finishing.
Brunei DPMM managed to pull one back through Sananta in the 58th minute, but their hopes of a comeback were short-lived. Just two minutes later, Ramadhan Saifullah restored Kuching’s four-goal lead.
Danial Asri then bagged his second of the night in the 77th minute, before substitute Joao Pedro added the finishing touch with a stoppage-time strike to seal a thumping 7-1 win.
The emphatic victory means Kuching City march into the FA Cup quarterfinals, continuing their strong run in the competition and sending a clear message to their future opponents.
