Malaysia’s rising motorcycle racing talent, Hakim Danish Ramli, saw his hopes of securing maximum points dashed at Round 4 of the 2025 FIM JuniorGP World Championship in Aragon, Spain, after a mechanical failure in Race 2 cut short what had been a promising weekend.
The 17-year-old SIC Racing-MSi rider began the round with confidence, delivering an impressive performance in Race 1, finishing fourth—just under a second shy of a podium finish—once again proving his ability to challenge among the front runners.
However, misfortune struck during Race 2, when a technical issue with his machine forced him to retire while he was fiercely competing in the leading pack, ending his campaign prematurely.
“I couldn’t finish the race due to a technical problem with the bike,” said Hakim Danish.
“Still, I felt really good during the race and stayed calm throughout. But sometimes, things like this are just beyond our control.
One thing is certain—I won’t lose heart. I’ll keep fighting and continue to work hard for the upcoming races.”
In Race 1, starting from seventh on the grid, Hakim showcased a confident ride, staying within the top group and even holding a podium position at one point before eventually crossing the line in fourth—his best showing after a series of challenging rounds.
But luck wasn’t on his side in Race 2. While riding in fifth and maintaining a strong pace with the leaders, his bike suddenly encountered a technical fault that forced him out of the race and denied him valuable championship points.
Race 1 was won by Italy’s Leonardo Zanni, while Race 2 saw home hero and championship leader Brian Uriarte take victory.
Following the Aragon round, Hakim Danish now sits seventh overall in the riders’ standings with 51 points, trailing Uriarte by 63 points.
The focus now shifts to Round 5, scheduled for September 21 at the Misano Circuit in Italy. Hakim will return to Malaysia during the European summer break to regroup and prepare for the next leg of the championship.
